Town of Gawler
The Town of Gawler has transformed its iconic State Heritage Listed Gawler Town Hall and Gawler Institute Buildings through a combination of conservation and adaptive reuse to create an architecturally significant Civic Centre for Government, Economic and Social Enterprise.
The Gawler Business Innovation Hub is one of the key functional areas located within the Gawler Civic Centre and has been operational since February 2019. Town of Gawler has engaged Andrew Morris to manage this commercially-focused, flexible working space occupied by businesses that are intent on wealth generation as well as local and regional job creation.
The Hub provides the opportunity for collaboration and mentoring and hopes to encourage home based business owners to establish themselves in this co-working space. It is also a GigCity Adelaide Precinct, providing fast and affordable gigabit internet connection speeds (100 times faster than the national average) for start-ups, entrepreneurs and big businesses. This connectivity, coupled with other Hub offerings including digital advisors in residence programs and business mentoring, networking and education, will provide a significant advantage to Gawler’s local and regional entrepreneurs and start-ups who are competing in the local, national and global digital economy.
Membership is via subscription with multiple membership options offered, including standard membership paid on a monthly basis, corporate rate, day rates and a discounted student rates. Membership includes desk space, printing, high speed internet, access to meeting rooms, 24 x 7 access (for standard memberships) and all of the service offerings listed above.
Based on current interest from the community, the expectation is co working seats will be at 75% by end of July 2019.
