The Small Business Commissioner’s office understands that Optus business customers were widely impacted by the Optus outage yesterday. The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman may be able to help.

The Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman has advised that they are able to assist businesses with compensation claims, contract disputes and refunds for customers affected by the Optus outage to its mobile network, fixed line network and overseas roaming on 8 November.

Small businesses looking to seek compensation for loss of use of their services are advised to keep a record of any losses encountered – for example, receipts.
